Generally, the density of glass wool boards ranges from 10 to 100 kg/m³. Low-density products (approx. 10–30 kg/m³) feature a loose structure with high air content, making them ideal for sound absorption and noise reduction-such as in suspended ceilings, wall linings, and acoustic optimization. While effective at absorbing mid-to-high frequency noise, these products offer relatively low compressive strength.

 

Medium-density boards (approx. 30–60 kg/m³) strike a balance between thermal insulation and sound absorption, making them the most versatile option. They are commonly used for building exterior wall insulation, roofing, and general equipment or piping insulation, as they meet energy-efficiency standards while maintaining structural stability.

 

High-density glass wool boards (approx. 60–100 kg/m³ or higher) are primarily used for industrial insulation or in structural areas requiring greater strength-such as for large-scale equipment, air duct cladding, or zones subject to external loads. These products feature a denser structure with superior compressive and wind-resistance capabilities, though their sound-absorption performance is comparatively lower.

 

Consequently, selecting the appropriate density for a project requires a comprehensive assessment of thermal insulation, sound absorption, and structural strength requirements, rather than simply opting for high or low density.
