Maintenance Cycle For Fire-resistant Wraps

It is generally recommended to conduct routine inspections of fire-resistant wraps every 6 to 12 months, focusing on identifying issues such as damage, cracking, detachment, moisture exposure, or loose fasteners. For installations in densely populated areas, underground spaces, or zones with high-intensity equipment operation, the inspection frequency is typically increased to every 3 to 6 months to ensure the fire protection system remains effective.

While high-quality fire-resistant wraps can last 5 to 10 years-or even longer-under normal conditions, this lifespan does not equate to a "maintenance-free" status. Over time, the aging or damage of outer protective layers (such as aluminum foil, coatings, or protective films) can compromise overall fire-resistance performance; consequently, localized repairs or replacements are necessary rather than waiting for total system failure.

In specialized environments-such as industrial sites characterized by high humidity, intense vibration, or the presence of corrosive gases-maintenance intervals should be shortened and adjusted dynamically based on actual inspection findings. Regular inspections and timely repairs can significantly extend the effective service life of fire-resistant wraps while ensuring reliable protection in the event of a fire.
